Family, Fun and Currently

Oh my goodness, it feels like forever since I've wrote on my little blog. I probably feel that way because it has been what seems like FOR-EV-ER!!! Sorry ya'll. I've been super busy with something called life, which for a while there I was really struggling with balancing my real life, actual teaching, and my blogging/TPT world. When Christmas break hit, I decided to take a break for a little while. I promised myself that I wouldn't do anything teacher related until the New Year hit. I kept that promise to myself and I'll admit that I've enjoyed every bit of it. I got to spend an entire week relaxing at my parents ranch. Which is something I haven't gotten to do since the school year started up. After the holidays my husband and I headed back to our little town in east Texas.

On our trip home (a 5 hour drive) I did decided to work on some new products since I didn't have much else to do in the car. I managed to get some new things created, then the battery died on my laptop. I was thinking, no big deal, I'll finish when I get home tonight and get them posted on TPT. Boy was I wrong. I got home, reached for my laptop bag and it hit me...I left my laptop charger on my parents couch, 5 hours away. Talk about a teachers nightmare. At first I was so upset because I had so much I wanted to get done. I wanted to participate in all the cute NY linkies that were happening in the blogging world. I wanted to work on some new units. Then I realized that it was God's way of telling that I needed to enjoy the rest of my break without worrying about work. Thats when my husband really stepped in and surprised me with a late Christmas gift! I am now the owner of a brand new MacBook Pro!!!! I've always been a  PC girl until I started my TPT adventure. The past few months I had been saving up for one. I am beyond excited about it!!! I'll be the first to admit that this is all new to me and I'm definitely still learning the system. I did manage to figure out how to make this blog post!

Now to share some NY fun! I'm linking up with Blog Hoppin  to share some of my New Years resolutions. I know its day 2 but I'm going to share some Fun and Family today and catch up on days 2 and 3 tomorrow.

I am super excited about what this year has in store for my little family. My husband and I love to travel. We hope to take at least 2 trips this year. We're talking about going to Nashville for our 1 year anniversary in June. I have never been and I'm just itching to go. Then we are planning to go to Vegas in December for the NFR. (National Finals Rodeo). Hopefully both of those will work out for us. Throw in a ski trip during spring break and a trip to the beach in the summer. I guess that really makes 4 trips huh?

I love my husband but I need my girl time. I've really wanted to work on being in touch with my friends more this year. Since we moved, I don't get to see my girls near as often as I use too. In 2 weeks, I'm excited to travel to Lubbock to stay with my very best friend for a long weekend. I only get to see her once or twice a year. I haven't seen her since last June when she was in my wedding.

Jared and I plan to get out more. We want to officially join a church and become more involved with our new community. We want to try and have at least 2 date nights a month.

We also want to add on to our little family this year. :)

Now onto this months Currently with Farley!

I know the top is cut off but I don't have PowerPoint installed on my Mac which is the program I normally use. This was my first time using quick note so bare with me!

Listening: Does anyone out there watch Dance Moms? I think the drama is ridiculous but I love it!

Loving: Obviously I'm loving my new computer. If anyone has any teacher tips out there for me, shoot me an e-mail! :)

Thinking: 2013 was such a blessing for me. I married my best friend, moved to a new town and got a new job. Made some new friends. Achieved many blogging/TPT goals. I am so blessed to be where I am today. Thank you to everyone who supported me in 2013. I will be forever grateful.

Wanting: I am in desperate need a hair cut! I'm going today at 12:00 to get it highlighted. I haven't colored my hair in 2 years. I'm excited for a new look for 2014!

Needing: I do not want to take down my Christmas tree down!! The goal for tonight is to get all of my decor down. We'll see if it get's done.

Memory/Tradition: I've always spent Christmas eve at my grandparents house. Its always my favorite day of the year. I have a very large family. There was 49 people at my grandparents this year and that wasn't everybody. We do gifts for the younger ones. My generation plays Chinese Christmas which is always a hit. Then my parent's generation does white elephant. Plus theres lots of food!

Since I missed out on the 13 for 13 link up. I'll share my flip grams of my year with you! Have ya'll seen these going around on instagram? The first one is my classroom one and the second one is my personal one.

Be on the look out for some new items this week when I get my charger to my old laptop in the mail! :) I'll give you a hint...Winter Edition Mix it Up and some Winter Olympic fun!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

    1. I am addicted! I love it way more than facebook!

  2. I am drooling over your Macbook. My Christmas tree and all of our decorations are also still up. I'm thinking I'll have my husband bring up our boxes this afternoon so he can *help* me. :)

    1. I did manage to get my tree and decorations down this evening. We just shoved all of our Christmas boxes into our spare room so it wasn't too bad. I hope your hubby helped you get it all together!

  3. I found your blog through the Currently link up. I got my first MacBook this past summer and I LOVE it! I will never go back to PC. It's different, but you can Google any question you have! One of my favorite features is the ability to easily take screenshots! I live 30 minutes from Nashville-so much to do and see! You should definitely visit. I also watch Dance Moms and need to take down my Christmas tree! I think we have a lot in common-so glad I found your blog!! Have a great 2014!!

    1. Google has been a life saver the past few days. It has definitely helped me learn how to use it. If we do end up going to Nashville, I'll definitely be asking you questions on places to go! I think I follow you on instagram!

  4. I am loving your new computer!! That's so exciting. And all your trips sound amazing! Thanks for sharing :)

  6. Welcome to the Mac world!!! I absolutely love it! I still have yet to go out and purchase Microsoft Word, but for my products and even the Currently jpg I used! From there you can create your own presentation, which is almost identical to powerpoint. You also can save all of your products so that it is easily accessible anywhere you have internet! I feel like you though, trying to balance life, AND TpT, blogging, and teaching! It has been entirely time consuming. I'm unsure how some of these ladies do it! But welcome back! I look forward to reading more on your blog! I just restarted mine on blogspot January 1! If you get a chance hop on over! :)
