Monday Made It: Birthday Chair and a Daily 5 FREEBIE

I’m linking back up with 4th Grade Frolics to share two projects I’ve made this week.
Last month I saw this super cute birthday chair from Mrs.Richardson’s class and I KNEW that I had to make one. When it’s a child’s birthday, they get to sit in the special chair for the day. Is this not genius!!! I went to Wal-Mart and bought a metal chair for $9.  Amanda used stickers to decorate her chair. I used what I already had at my house so I didn’t have to make a special trip. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out “Happy Birthday” in cute paper. The adhesive spray was left over from my wedding, you can get it at Hobby Lobby. I just used paint I had on hand. Then I used a Mod Podge acrylic sealer.
I used the Elmer’s adhesive spray to put on the letters. Then made dots with my paint. When everything was dry, I sprayed the acrylic sealer on top. I was going to use the Mod Modge glue and then quickly decided against it. The spray sealer worked just fine. Here is how it turned out.

I snapped this picture when it was still wet. The lines you see are the sealer. It dried clear.
The polka dots aren’t perfect and that’s ok. It looks like a kid made it and that’s what I like about it.
I have read, and read, and read some more about Daily 5. I am determined to do it full force this year. I needed a clip chart to keep track of my student rotations. I whipped this one up and LOVE how it turned out.
I printed each page, laminated, then attached with ribbon.
You can get this clip chart FREEBIE here! I’ve included 4 different versions: zebra, polka dot, chevron and stripes.
Zebra, polka dot, chevron, and stripes included.
