Meet the Teacher Linky

I'm linking up with Stephanie from Falling into First for her Meet the Teacher Blogger linky party!  This is such a good idea to get to know other teacher bloggers out there.

I'm Marcy! My last name can be hard for kids to pronounce. Its "burr-knee-the". I have them say "burr" like they are cold and wrap there arms around them, then say "knee" and they put their hands on their knees, then they say the word the. LOL I know its silly but it works. I learned that trick from my mom-in-law! HA!

I've been married to my best friend Jared for just a little over a year. He is my best friend and partner in crime. He puts up with my computer/clip art/TPT/font/school supply/all things shiny obsession! We met 5 years ago, became best friends literally for the next two years,  then finally started to try dating. He proposed 6 months into our dating adventure and we were married 6 months after that!

Here is one of our engagement pictures. Yes we are sitting on a giant rock. The background is not fake. That's my grandparents ranch/house in the background. My parents house is just to the left. This is where I grew up and it's my most favorite place in the world.

Who doesn't love a fist pump at a wedding! We got married on the ranch across from ours and it has the most beautiful views of our place.

We have one spoiled fur baby named Dakota. She is as border collie/australian shepherd mix. We kinda love her just a little! :) She recently had to get a hair cut because her hair was long, out of control, and EVERYWHRE!

*Look at that sweet face!*

I'm about to start my 5th year teaching. It'll be my fourth year in 2nd grade. I've also taught 1st.

Here's a few more things about me:

child of the one true KING *wife * aunt * sister * country girl * lover of all things crafty * there isn't anything better than getting lost in a good book for hours * sports fanatic * TEXAS TECH RED RAIDER * RED RAIDER FOOTBALL * Dallas Cowboys * Texas Rangers * flair pens * anything Apple * boots * MissMe jeans * turquoise * BLING * trash to treasure * funky and junky* BIG JEWELRY * hair spray * TX music * dancing * cheer and tumble * horses * photography * backroads * lake rat * wakeboarder * mountains * beach *wanna be world traveler * netflix *running * chevron * zebra * glitter

THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS...

I didn't know some this was going to be a question. Let's try this again.

Music ~ Miranda Lambert OBSESSED (seen her 22 times). I'm a Texas Country Music girl. I can't listen to the Nashville stuff (no offense to those that do.) Wade Bowen, Josh Abbott, and Cody Johnson are a few of my favorites.

Sports ~ RED RAIDER FOR LIFE, college football, the Dallas Cowboys, and my Texas Rangers. I did completive cheerleading for 18 years and I cheered in college. It's not my personality but it's in my blood.

Shopping ~ Giddy Up Glamour is my favorite boutique, Maurices, and Target. A girl can never have too many boots in her closet. I never leave the house with out some bling. I LOVE big bracelets!

TV Shows ~ Grey's Anatomy, The Walking Dead, Big Band Theory, 2 Broke Girls, Elementary and Sons of Anarchy (currently binge watching on Netflix right now!) Oh and how could I forget HGTV!!! My all time favorite is One Tree Hill. Sad that it's not on anymore.

Movie ~ Lonesome Dove, The Notebook, The Proposal, Hitch, 8 Seconds, The Little Rascals (I could seriously keep going...)

Author ~ Colleen Hoover. If you have not heard of her, go look up up now!!! Her Slammed series is by far my favorite. I have an emotional attachment to those characters.

Color ~ Turquoise

Food ~ Steak and potatoes and mexican

Drink ~ Dr.Pepper and sweet tea

IF YOU WEREN'T A TEACHER, WHAT WOULD YOU WANT TO BE?
I would love to own my own clothing boutique. I mostly shop and boutique style stores and just love it. I think it would be so fun.

I've also always said that if I wasn't a teacher, I would have gone into forensics. I watch all those shows on TRUTV. It fascinates me.

THREE LITTLE WORDS THAT DESCRIBE YOU.
Driven * Sensitive * Sassy

FINISH THE SENTENCE, "________,  SAID NO TEACHER EVER!!"

Teacher's don't spend their own money on school supplies, said NO TEACHER EVER!!!

Q: IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY AND YOU CAN INVITE ANYONE {DEAD OR ALIVE} TO THE PARTY. WHO ARE YOU INVITING?

Jesus, John Wayne, Channing Tatum (yum),  Miranda Lambert, the entire cast of Friends, the entire cast of One Tree Hill, and my granddad (he passed away 3 years ago)
Q: IF SOMEONE WROTE A BOOK ABOUT YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD BE THE TITLE?

 Oh gosh, I don't know....

The Sassy Ambitious Teacher

Q:YOU GET TO PICK ONE SUPERPOWER. WHAT IS IT?

To be able to close your eyes, say where you want to go and BAM you're there.  We live 5 hours from my family and almost 7 to Jared's family. Its hard.

Oh and for a magic house cleaner for sure.

Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE OR SAYING?

I can do ALL THING through CHRIST who strengthens me ~ Philippians 4:13
Trust in the LORD with all YOUR heart ~ Proverbs 3:5
Saddle up and follow your dreams ~ John Wayne

Q: IF YOU HAD TO SING ONE SONG ON AMERICAN IDOL, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Gun Powder and Lead ~ Miranda Lambert

Q: ARE YOU A MORNING PERSON OR A NIGHT OWL?

I'm going use Stephanie's answer...

I'm SUCH a night owl. I can stay highly productive until the early hours of the morning. But everything before 9AM is a struggle. Morning and I are not really good friends.

Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE RESOURCE THAT YOU'VE CREATED IN YOUR TPT SHOP?

I LOVE my Double Bubble: A doubles and doubles +1 unit. It was one of the first units I felt like I really showed my style with. The kids loved it and we used it throughout the year.

Q: SHARE SOMETHING WE MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU!

I absolutely, 100% DO NOT LIKE CLOWNS!!!!

Now head on over to Falling into First to meet other teachers!

    1. Yay for June weddings! I get asked that clown question all the time. The answer is no. I've just never liked them. I have a picture of me dressed up as one for Halloween when I was 4. I'm crying. My mom said I cried the entire night. They just freak me out. LOL

  3. Girl, WE ARE SISTERS...but very far apart in age. (or maybe mother/daughter?) I'm in my 25th year of teaching?! How is it possible that we have so much in common? As I read your questionnaire, I laughed to myself. You have to come by and see my "Meet the Teacher Blogger" post! I think you'll laugh too, especially when you meet my Abby (we shave her too!). BTW- LOVE Texas Red Dirt music...my oldest son used to play with Ryan Beaver and John David Kent. Here are some other things you wrote that I didn't, but we share...I'm from Texas, was a college cheerleader, love turquoise, chevron, big jewelry, Lonesome Dove, Big Bang Theory, HGTV (my fave is Fixer Upper), Jesus, John Wayne, Miranda Lambert, Friends. Crazy! Sorry this is so long. I have to follow you. So glad to meet you, Miss Texas! Julie

    1. How fun Julie!!! You're son played with Ryan Beaver? I think that is so awesome! Where did you cheer at? I don't talk about that much because it's not my personality type but what can I saw its secretly in my blood! Fixer Upper is my favorite show on HGTV. We want them to come redo our house. I use to live near Waco and hope to get back that way soon. Maybe one day that might actually happen. LOL Headed over to read your blog post now.

    1. Oh Amna! I can't think of Double Bubble without Carols husband scything that either! I was actually just telling that to my story to my husband last night. Maybe I do need to go in and fix that. Haha! Have you seen the Walking Dead trailer that was just released??? It's like 5 minutes long and super intense. I didn't catch the sweater thing either. I might have to go back and rematch just to see. We have all of the episodes on DVR.
