ARRRGH You Ready For Adjectives?

Ahoy Mates! I am so excited to share my latest unit with you! ARRRGH You Ready For Adjectives?

I started on this unit before Thanksgiving and then life happened and I just wasn't able to get it finished in time before the break. We are moving on to adverbs next but I'll be using lots of these activities for my students to review during small groups.

Do you use interactive notebooks in your classroom? We use them for every subject on a daily basis. This unit includes 2 different journal activities that can be used with your kids to introduce or review the concept.

One of my favorite actives from this unit is this fun booklet. I'm going to have my student brainstorm different types of adjectives to use a reference throughout the rest of the year.

My favorite teaching tool is task cards! I love, love, LOVE them! They are so versatile and the kids really enjoy them. This unit includes 2 different sets of task cards in color and black and white.

Here is a closer look at what you can get with this unit.

You can grab a FREEBIE from this unit by clicking here or on the photo below.

I hope you can use it in your classroom somehow.

Enjoy! :)

Weekend Warriors: Delicious December

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays sweet readers. I hope you had a wonderful time with your family and friends. One of my favorite things about this time of year is the FOOD! I love me some good eatin' y'all! I've come together with my weekend warrior gals to bring you my favorite delicious recipe.

Now I'll be the first to admit that I am no Suzy Homemaker. I don't really like to cook. Let me rephrase that, I never know what to cook. I'll ask the hubs what he wants for dinner and every day I get "I don't care". That STRESSES me out ya'll! lol I do try though.

Something I do enjoy, although I don't do it very often is baking. Today I'll be sharing my great-grandmothers homemade banana nut bread recipe with you. (Just a little side note, I won 1st place in my county 4H food show with this recipe back in 1997. Big deal ya'll! HA!)

I love me some banana bread. I make this a few times a month and eat it for breakfast throughout the week. It's quick, easy and oh so good!!!

You can click here to download your copy. A color and black and white version is included as well as an 8x10 printable for a binder and a 3x5 printable to fit in a recipe box.

Don't forget to check out the Weekend Warriors Pinterest board. It is full of great ideas from all my favorite ladies!

14 Favorites of 2014

Happy Christmas break sweet friends! I slept in this morning, ate a bowl of cereal on the couch, and I'm still sitting in my pjs watching HGTV as we speak. I don't know about everyone else but I was in need of a much needed break. It's nice to be able to relax.

I'm linking up with Traci, Hadar, and Kristin to reflect on my favorite memories of 2014.

I can't believe that 2014 is coming to an end. It has been full of wonderful crazy ups and downs. My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary in Nashville where we enjoyed the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman Auditorium, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and all the experiences that Music Row has to offer.  I became a Jamberry nails consultant. My oldest nephew placed 4th in the state track meet in Pole Valut, my oldest niece graduated HS and is now a D1 athlete at the University of Oklahoma, and my fourth nephew as born. In 2014, my husband and I paid off 3 debts (thank you TPT) and we bought our first boat. Most of our summer was spent at the lake and we couldn't have been happier. I reached my first milestone on TPT and have made some wonderful bloggy friends this year. I traveled to Vegas twice this year. Once for the first annual TPT conference and the second time with my husband for the National Finals  Rodeo.  We are currently moving into a new house and getting ready to enjoy the holidays at my parents.

My husband and I have been hit with some pretty unexpected challenges this year. We have really focused on this verse this year. Jeremiah 29:11.

I L-O-V-E Palazzo pants! They are so comfortable. I bet I have a dozen pair in my closet. My husband just loves my online shopping habit. I have the pair shown above. They are from Giddy Up Glamour, my favorite boutique.

My mind has completely drawn a blank and cannot think of many new movies that I watched this year. I'm still waiting to see Mocking Jay. Hopefully I'll get to see it over the break. We have been waiting for American Sniper to come out.

I have become slightly obsessed with The Walking Dead and by slightly I mean completely!

Now that I think about it, I think I started watching Walking Dead last year. We did binge watch Sons of Anarchy this year so we could watch the last season live. It ran a pretty close race to Walking Dead but not quite.

Maklemore's is a local restaurant that we go to at least once a week. They have the best pasta.

This is the first year I've fully implemented Daily 5 into my reading block. I am loving how well the kids have responded to it. They actually enjoy reading time. They are always asking when D5 time is.

I have wanted these earrings for years. I came home one day to them sitting on the kitchen table. The hubs got major brownie points for this one. :)

How can I pick just one???

I really want to make one of these to display in my house. It is on my mile long to do list.

I really enjoyed sharing my Writer's Notebook setup with everyone. You can click here to read about it and grab a FREEBIE!

TeachersPayTeachers has changed my life in more ways than one. I attended the first TPT conference in Vegas over the summer and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I hit many personal and professional goals this year.

Through TPT's blessings my husband and I have been able to pay off 3 debts, buy our first boat, go on 3 vacations, and so much more.

Through this wonderful experience, I have been asked to present at the first iTeach 2nd grade conference next summer. I can't wait too see what 2015 has in store.

The hubs and I at Thanksgiving. I just love this photo.

We went back to Vegas the first week in December for the WNFR (Wrangler National Finals Rodeo) and had the best time.

My goal for 2015 is to grow my faith and relationship with the Lord most High. I want to "check in" with Him more, pray with Him more, and trust in Him more.

Choose Joy!

2014 was a wonderful year. I cannot wait to see what 2015 has in store for me.
